Set up in 1979, Emplas has grown over the past 4 decades to become one of the UK’s largest manufacturers of energy efficient and low maintenance windows & doors. 

We work with some of the window & door industry’s most established profiles, including Profile 22, the UK’s leading window systems company, Saint Gobain, a world leader in glass and IGU manufacture, DOORCO and ALUK to bring cutting edge innovation to energy efficient door & window fabrication. 

Still operating as a family-owned business today, we remain true to our founding principles, including a no-compromise approach to product quality and a commitment to deliver unparalleled service and support to our customers.

The Emplas Timeline

Emplas Creation

The Journey Began

February 1979

Kevin Johnson and his early business partner, Tony Foster commenced trading with the sales an installation of aluminium double glazed windows and doors to local homeowners. They made their own glassed sealed units in Tony's garage and first floor bedroom.

Emplas Beginnings

The First Manufacturing Units

Jul - Nov 1979

The moved from Tony's garage and first floor bedroom to rent a small industrial unit in Wellingborough and then relocated to a larger unit in Burton Lamiter, Northants, later that year.

Emplas Manufactoring

The First Freehold Factory

July 1980

Kevin and Tony purchased a factory in nearby Finedon and began to manufacture uPVC double glazed windows and doors. They were one of the only few fabricators in the UK to internally glaze windows for better security.

Back to Wellingborough to a much larger factory to cope with the growth of the company

The First National Recognition

June 1998

Kevin was presented with the Promotional Campaign of the Year at the GLASSEX Awards

Emplas First Factory

Move to our Current Site

April 2001

The company purchased and moved into its current site in Wellingborough, which offered a space three times larger than it's previous location

Emplas Newly Aquired

Acorn Aluminium acquired

May 2006

Acorn Aluminium Ltd was aquired so that the company could offer uPVC double glazed windows and doors as well as commercial aluminium double glazing

Emplas Factory

Award Winning Windows & Doors

2014 - 2015

After winning the G14 Customer Care Initiative of the Year and the G15 Fabricator of the Year awards. Emplas begin on a site development plan, investing over 3.6 million in new machinery and a factory expansion

Timeline

Investing for the Future

2017

Development commences on the £2.2 million investment of the UK factory. £1.4 million is invested in machinery.

G18 Awards Finalist

Ecostar Relocation & Award

2018

July: Rapid growth saw Ecostar relocate to a new head office, installation depot & customer service centre. October: Finalist in the G18 Fabricator of the Year.

2019
