Emplas has confirmed that it will begin manufacture of Profile 22’s new cutting-edge technology Optima-sculptured and chamfered systems from early July.
Unveiled by the Epwin systems house at the FIT Show in April, Optima features a raft of innovations to drive sales across retail and commercial markets.
This also includes a new flush casement, developed to generate new opportunities for installers in the growing heritage sector.
Ryan Johnson, Managing Director, Emplas, said: “Optima represents a complete re-launch of Profile 22’s offer and with it, our own as one of the largest Profile 22 fabricators in the country.
“It works well for us as a fabricator but more importantly, we believe it will allow us to deliver significant additional benefits to our customers in the trade.
“There has been significant growth in end-user demand for traditional and heritage flat flush casements. We’re now not only able to meet this demand but to do so with one of the industry’s most energy efficient systems.”
Emplas will begin manufacture of Optima alongside Profile 22’s existing FI and FS 70mm systems with immediate effect with an ambition to switch to the sole manufacture of the new system by the end of the year.
Optima is built around a six chamber outer frame and five chamber sash. It includes a choice of 24mm and 28mm double, and 36mm, 40mm and 44mm triple-glazed beading options. This means that it comfortably achieves u-values as low as 0.8W/m2K on triple-glazed units.
In addition to a flush casement, Optima also delivers flexibility to manufacture other niche products including a fully reversible window; vertical sliding sash; flush tilt-and-turn; composite and patio door frames.
Johnson continued: “There are a number of technical innovations in manufacture, which will allow us to drive efficiencies through our own business, and which in turn mean that we can also deliver a better service and product offer to our customers.
“It’s not simply about flush casements or triple-glazing. There are a host of other innovations for example a larger rebate and reduced bulk in the upstand compared to FI 70 or optional third seals on the outer frame and sash, which provide the additional selling points.”
Optima also features deeper drainage channels and a new 13mm stack hinge which increases overlap cover to 10mm compared to an industry standard of 6-8mm, improving weather tightness.
The system has also been designed to meet all current but also predicted changes in security, with central Eurogroove location of hardware and local thickening of walls, making the system fully compliant with PAS24:2012.
“Optima’s launch coincides with a period of significant investment in Emplas as a business and our service offer to our customers”, said Johnson.
“This extends from lead generation and management through EVA our retail lead generation service; online ordering; to the multi-million pound investment that we have made in our manufacturing capability including machinery; bar coding; and our partnership with Pilkington.
“For Emplas it’s about looking to the future. Optima gives us and our customers a foundation on which to build our future growth”, he added.
