Emplas has announced a significant ramping-up of its trade offer with the launch of a new aluminium window and door range. Unveiled this month (March), Emplas now gives its customers access to AluK’s leading range of aluminium windows and doors in addition to the pre-existing F82 Luminia bifold door offer.
The range includes the 58BW TBT Slim Sightline Window, including flush and heritage options. It also includes the aluminium system leader’s 58BD residential and French Door system, which includes a flush option. Rounding off the range is the Our Inline patio door, which goes as big as 6.5m, and the BSF70 bifold door. All products, as with Emplas’ current uPVC offering, are accessible through the online portal and window designer, allowing installers to get instant quotes and place orders online.
Jody Vincent, sales director at Emplas, said the expanded aluminium range gives installers access to a highly competitive uPVC and aluminium offer from a single supplier. Jody said: “Everyone has seen the exponential growth in demand that that has been for aluminium. Our customers are fitting more of it, and we’re here to meet that demand through single-source supply alongside uPVC.
“That’s a single order, through a single system, and a single delivery to site for aluminium bifolds, windows, uPVC and for those customers also buying in products glazed, units. It makes it easier to do business when the market is so busy. It frees you up to capitalise on each and every opportunity.”
Emplas added the flagship AluK F82 to its uPVC offer in the summer of 2019. As a premium bifolding door, it delivers significantly enhanced performance and aesthetics, and with it, opportunities to tap into higher-margin sales. This includes class-leading thermal performance, with U-values of 1.4 W/m2K with a double glazed units, and as low as 0.9 W/m2K when triple glazed.
Available in lead times of 15-days or less, its launch has been accompanied by a six-figure investment last year in Emplas’ dedicated aluminium manufacturing facility. This added new cutting-edge aluminium CNC technologies to its bifold lines, including a top of the range Pertici mc 700 5 axis CNC with 7m working area with two working zones, plus two new Pertici 500 double-head cutting saws with a 6.1m cutting length.
Jody continued: “The machinery investment that we made at the end of last year removes manual process, giving us far greater control over quality, reducing cycle times, and ultimately lead times to the customer. We have a reputation for uPVC but we’ve also made a corresponding investment in our aluminium offer. That puts us, and our customers, in a very strong position going forward.”
The addition of the aluminium liding door, which combines maximum sash weights of up to 400kg, a maximum height of 3000mm, with slim contemporary sightlines and single, double and triple, track options, gives Emplas’ customers access to the growing market for aluminium inline sliding doors. Emplas will also offer the new 58BW Flush Casement, a design defined by a slim 46mm sash, delivering minimal sightlines in open-out sashes in top, side, French Casement nad multi-light openings. Emplas will also offer the slimline 58BW ST, a window designed as a replacement for steel windows, offering the minimalistic sightlines of the 58mm system as well as a contemporary aesthetic, giving it reach in the new build and replacement markets.
Jody concluded: “We’re excited to be bringing new products online, but for me, the real value-add is the flexibility that we can now deliver as part of a combined aluminium and uPVC offering. We can now support our customers in accessing almost any aluminium project, but the reality in home improvement is that a growing number of projects are integrated across material-types. The flexibility to order a bifold next to a foiled uPVC window and door and get it on a single delivery is an instant win for installers in what is a very buoyant market.”
