Emplas has launched a new clip-on cill option for our range of ALUK F82 Luminia Aluminium Bifold Doors. This new innovation will eliminate the risk of damage during installation and while other trades are still on site.
Created in partnership with ALUK, this highly innovative solution offers benefits in new build as well as home improvement installs. The cill is available in four options: 95mm, 150mm, 190mm and 225mm.
John Leary, sales and marketing director at Emplas, said: “It’s simple but it’s genius. Cills can easily be damaged or scratched during installation. Fitting it after the door has gone in, or after other trades have finished on-site if it’s a new build or extension, is simple logic.
“That’s important as the volume of aluminium bifolds going into new build properties increases. Being able to fit cills after plumbers, electricians, plasterers, renderers or scaffolders have left the site is a massive advantage, as is the flexibility to remove a cill if damaged without having to take out the complete door.”
Emplas launched ALUK’s contemporary F82 Luminia Aluminium Bifolding Door in May last year. As a premium bifolding door offer, it delivers significantly enhanced performance and aesthetics and with it, opportunities to tap into higher-margin sales.
Critically, this includes a leading thermal performance, delivering U-values of 1.4 W/m2K with double glazing, and as low as 0.9 W/m2K with triple glazing. This door is capable of spanning larger expanses while maximising the glazed area. Your customer will enjoy symmetrical sightlines on the frame, cill and jamb of only 97mm and only 122mm on the door meeting. The flush ‘T’ handle or flush door handle means when not in use, this door can be enjoyed as a whole wall of glass.
To give you the confidence to offer this product to your customers, this door has also been tested to PAS24 and Part Q, making it perfect for higher-end new build installations.
In addition to style, the F82 bifold door delivers on substance, with a maximum individual leaf width of 1200mm. Heavy-duty rollers provide smooth operation, with sashes accommodating individual sash weights of 150kg.
John added: “We’ve seen substantial growth in volume since we started manufacturing the Luminia last year. That’s been driven by demand in home improvement but also a growing number of new build installations. With SBD, Part Q approved design and U-values down to 1.4 W/m2K, it lends itself to the new build sector. In that environment, the ability to fit or replace cills after installation is a massive advantage.”
