Work on a major extension of Emplas’ manufacturing hub is now well underway with the construction of a new car park and concrete foundations poured.
Adding around a third again of additional space to Emplas’ current 50,000 sq ft factory, the new development will create new factory floor space, loading bays and offices.
Kush Patel, Operations Director, Emplas said: “The £3million plus, investment that we’re making in our factory, allows us to improve our product quality and efficiency, both of which translate into a better service to our customers.
“We’re focused on growth but we recognise that that growth needs to be sustainable in the long term, which is what’s driving the investment we’re making in the physical building here in Wellingborough alongside further investments in the latest machinery and our IT systems to support this infrastructure.
“The new space that the extension of the factory gives us allows us to improve workflows, not only in the factory but to also streamline and improve the efficiency of our dispatch process, as well as providing more space for our expanding team.”
Emplas has made significant strides forward in its service offer, developing ithe Emplas Virtual Assistant (EVA) Portal. This facility now forms a critical part of the service offering to its customers, with order tracking capability right up to the point of delivery.
“Visibility against orders is a key element of our service. EVA allows our customers to see all their orders on a simple to use dashboard detailing when the order was placed,a downloadable order acknowledgment, the date due for delivery, and downloadable CE marking certificate, return goods advice and invoice – all for that specific job”, continued Kush.
He concluded: “We believe, however, that we can always be better and are constantly working to improve product quality and service. The investment we’re making in the factory extension, machinery, EVA portal developments and people pushes things forward that little bit further to improve quality control and on time in full deliveries that are fully visible to our customer.”
