Emplas Strengthens Customer Services Team

Emplas has strengthened its customer services team with the appointment and promotion of two members of staff. Clodagh Driscoll is now the business’ customer services manager, with Rebecca Simmons stepping into a new role as customer services team leader. Each team member brings extensive experience to the post, having progressed through the company to assume new leadership roles.

Clodagh joined Emplas in May 2008 in a telesales role, then joining the marketing and sales support team before holding a role in the customer support department in 2017. Moving into the team leader position nine-months later, Clodagh was appointed to the new role in June.

She said: “I’ve always been supported and encouraged to develop my career while working here. This is the next step for me. I’ve been part of the team for three years, I’ve learnt a lot and built some great relationships with customers who have genuinely become friends.

“While we automate and do a lot digitally, there is no replacement for picking up the phone and actually talking to someone. It completely changes the dynamic. Our customers know that we’re here for them.”

Clodagh is supported in the management of the 15-strong department by Rebecca, who also became team leader in June. Rebecca joined Emplas’ commercial team in September 2013 after completing a degree in Business and Event Management. She then moved int the Emplas customer service’s team at the beginning of 2018.

Rebecca said: “I wanted to join a company which would allow me to progress and develop my career and I’ve always been supported in that at Emplas. There’s genuinely a relationship between us as a team and our customers. We’re talking to them daily. You know how important each order is to their business and their ability to get the job done.

“It doesn’t happen very often but if things don’t go to plan for whatever reason, we’ll do everything we can as a team t turn things around, and I think customers appreciate it. They know we’re there to support them.”

Speaking on the promotions, managing director at Emplas, Ryan Johnson, said: “It’s great to see two people who I have worked with for a very long time move forward into new and vitally important roles within our business. They both get the market, understand our customers and are committed to delivering the highest levels of customer service and support.”
